The role of a state is to take care of its people and their wellbeing. If one visits Belarus, one will see a tidy, clean, well functioning country, with quite good industry, healthcare and education. In that sense, the long-running president of Belarus has done a very good job. Compared to to the disappearing three small Baltic states and the disintegrating Ukraine, it is a "garden" (by Borel).
